Flower Child

These are the flowers I remember from my childhood- trilliums. They carpet the shady floor of the woods behind my parents' house.

They're everywhere... thousands of them... we used to pick armfuls and bring them to my mother.

Sometimes we would dye the water and make them turn blue and red and yellow... they never lasted long after they were picked, but they were beautiful while they lasted.

This is one of the old stone walls that still serves as a property line.... all covered in moss and softened by time...
And, per Jamie Dawn's request....

Here's me:

Hooray Carae!!! (Hey, that rhymes.)

You are such a cutie. Is that naturally curly hair?
If so, then I might hate you a little. (just teasing)
I say that because my hair is so fine, like chicken feathers. The good thing is that it is very soft, but the bad thing is that it is very limp.
I've always longed for lustrous, thick waves of glory.
My daughter got all those genes, and I am very glad for her. Looks like you got those genes too.

Your parents' property is gorgeous. I'm enjoying the beauty of Arkansas. It is really green and there are lots of trees and there's lots of water everywhere. Just yesterday, my hubby and I stopped while two adult geese and a trail of baby geese crossed the road. Are the babies goslings? I think so.

Jamie-

Yes, it is naturally curly hair and I'll allow you to hate me a little. I had it cut short (like, boy short) for 20 years and finally let it grow out a couple years ago... should have done THAT a lot sooner!

Thank you...

I did just the opposite. I had longish hair and then cut it off short when I was in college. I grew it back out a couple of times, but kept returning to it, shorter and shorter over time. Now, I can't imagine it being long.
It would be so straggly and thin that I would be annoyed all the time with it. Short works best for me.

Nice photos... were they taken recently? Looks like fall season almost. Then again, I've gotten spoiled on green upon green upon green year round. Thanks for the nature, east of here.

And that's you? I always pictured someone different, but I can't quite put it into words what she (you) looked like. Either way, it's nice to have a face to connect with you. And sorry for my absence... been enjoying the sun too much,

They were taken two weeks ago. It takes awhile for the green to catch up to us in NY- winter lasts about 5 months. We're actually greener earlier this year.

I always wonder how people picture me....

the earlier greening is global warming!!!

Nah, Dan, just a side effect of an unusually warm winter. If this were global warming, the apocalypse is next month, because not even global warming can explain the lack of snow we had.
